A True Romantic Teenage

Love, love, love, love. This magical word is no more a rare thing in our daily. Especially in our ages, where everything looks super duper beautiful with love and totally awful without love. The point is, it’s the time for us to get to know what love is. But, we usually just relate this word with some kind of romance stories with our lovers. Well, that explain enough why most of Indonesian songs theme are always about the “you and me can or can’t be together happily ever after” thing.

Actually, love isn’t just that all. If we want to ‘study’ it, there’s no right words could definite what love is. It’s an universal and wide thing. We could love anything and anyone. Then, we could feel different feelings caused by love. We could be sad, happy, crazy, even we could turn into someone else (this one could be good, but also bad). So, some people would say if it’s a beautiful thing, when they are in love with something or someone, and they can straightly change their statement when they’re hurt by something or someone they love. It’s common, isn’t it?


Love isn’t just about feeling. It’s more than such thing. Love must be expressed. Not just love to our couple, but also to others and things. For example, this December 22, is a Mother’s Day. We can express our love to our mother on that day, but doesn’t mean that we just express our love to our beloved mother on Mother’s day, but also in any days, every day with anyways. Else, we must be having friends, best friends even enemies. And I’m sure everybody must be really love their friends. Then, the way to show our love to them, is to keep our friendship with them. And to our enemies or people who hate us, we got to love them too. How? By stop making trouble with them and pray for them. May be it’s a hard thing to do. But if it’s good, why not?

Not just human being that we should love. We should love other creatures. The closest creatures we could love are our pets. We show our love to it by taking care of it. Another thing that we should love is our environment, which means love our earth. It heard really frivolous, that we hear it everywhere and every time. And that’s exactly our fault. We just read and hear, but do nothing to express it. To love the world, we just have to do things that don’t make this earth worse and worse. We don’t have to push ourselves to do some campagne or donate some money in large number. It’s actually really easy. Just start from things around us. Don’t use too much plastics, don’t litter, don’t forget to turn off electronics that not in use (especially cell phone charger, which really familiar in our daily), don’t waste waters, don’t use stereo foam, and try to minimize your tissue using. Easy isn’t it? If you want to help some planting champagne or animal saving campagne, there are some sites that can help you to do it, and you can choose whether you can do it for free (you just vote the champagne without cost money, just click some buttons on the screen) or you want to donate some money. The easiest thing we can do from internet is to join the Causes program in Facebook, if you have a Facebook profile. We just need to vote the program, and our votes will be realization by acts from the activists to save the earth. Easy isn’t it?

Not just that, we should love our things too. Maybe things that belong to us, such as cell phone, computers, etc. Why should we love it? Because by loving it, we could use it for long term. And believe me, that really useful. Starts from small stuffs we have, we can learn how to love bigger things. Bigger things are not just stuffs, but also people, environment, and everything.

We could say this is the biggest thing that we should love from our deepest heart. It’s God. Maybe you always pray, go to church or mosque or any holy places to pray. But what does it mean if you do it just for pomposity? We got to do it from our heart, from our own will, so we do it happily. And maybe you always claim yourself as a good person, but you never do good things to others. It would mean nothing. The easiest way to love God is to thankful and regard what He gave to us.

So, the point is,don’t pretend about love. Once you pretend, it wouldn’t be a good thing. We will disappoint others and ourselves.If you love something or someone, then show it before it’s too late. And remember, love isn’t just about romance story such as relationship with boyfriend and girlfriend, but our relationship with others and things around us. Don’t be a romantic person only for our love life with our couple, but for everything we have in our life.
